Death toll rises to 11 in Delhi hotel fire

New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) The death toll in the massive fire broke out at a Delhi hotel rose to 11 and three persons were injured, senior fire officials confirmed here on Tuesday.

According to officials, the fire incident occurred at Arpit Palace hotel in the wee hours today while 20 fire tenders were pushed into service.The blaze was put to a stop around 0830 hours while the rescue operation by the police was underway.

The victims also include a child and a woman, senior fire officials told UNI.

It is a three story building which is still under cooldown and is being searched.

As per locals, massive flames were seen on top of the building while some people were jumping out from the window to save their lives.

However, the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
