DC and Police Commissioner inspects Full Dress R-Day rehearsal

Jalandhar, Jan 24 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today participated in the full dress rehearsal to mark the Republic Day celebrations in the local Guru Gobind Singh Stadium.
During the full dress rehearsal, the Deputy Commissioner unfurled the national flag and took salute from the impressing march past led by parade commander Ankur Gupta, IPS. The officers also inspected the cultural items prepared by the various educational institutions to mark the event. They also gave the necessary directions to the forces and the officers regarding the foolproof preparations for the mega event in which Cooperation Minister Sukjinder Singh Randhawa would unfurl the national tri-color.
Both the officers reiterated the firm commitment of the administration to observe this mega event in an unprecedented manner. Both the officers said that the preparations for this mega event was going on in full swing and every effort would be made to make sure that auspicious day was celebrated with full patriotic and nationalistic fervor. They said that dazzling performances dipped in patriotic fervor by students from various educational institutions would be once again the hallmark of the Republic Day celebrations in the city.
They said that the officers have been assigned duties regarding the event and any sort of callousness in this duty was unwarranted and undesirable. Both the officers said that the cultural events to be presented by the students would showcase the patriotic fervor and rich legacy of state besides focusing on the theme of ‘unity in diversity’, which was the very basis of our country.
On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioners Kulwant Singh and Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Rahul Sindhu, Assistant Commissioner Hardeep Singh Dhaliwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun Saini, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dharam Pal and ACP traffic HS Bhalla were also present.
