Day temp above normal in few spots across Punjab and Haryana

Pune, May 29 (UNI) The conditions continue to become favourable for Monsoon onset over Kerala during next 24-hours. The conditions also continue to become favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of south Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Maldives and Comorin area; some parts of Lakshadweep area, Kerala; some more parts southwest and central Bay of Bengal, northeast Bay of Bengal and some parts of northeastern states during the same period.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at a few places over Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, west Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Kutch, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. These were markedly below normal ( 5.1°C or less) at a few places over Assam and Meghalaya; at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; appreciably below normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Kerala and Mahe; below normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Telangana and north interior Karnataka and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 50.5°C was reported at Churu (west Rajasthan) over the country.

Use alternative to DAP fertiliser, Maha govt tells farmers

Mumbai, June 20 (UNI) The Maharashtra Agriculture Department on Thursday advised farmers to use alternative fertilisers available in the market instead of relying only on DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) in the current kharif season,

Currently sowing has started in the state and DAP fertiliser is in high demand. DAP fertilizer contains 18 percent nitrogen and 46 percent phosphorus as nutrients.
