Day after exit poll predictions, Chandrababu Naidu holds parley with Mamata to discuss strategy in post poll situation

Kolkata, May 20 (UNI) TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu today held a parley with his TMC counterpart Mamata Banerjee here, a day after the completion of Lok Sabha elections and exit polls predicted second term for NDA government at the Centre, to discuss future course of action among the anti-BJP forces, anticipating a hung parliament.
West Bengal ruling Trinamool Congress sources said the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minster spoke Ms Banerjee for about 45 minutes at her Kalighat residence in south Kolkata, and drove straight to Dum Dum airport without briefing the waiting mediapersons.
"All I can say that the two leaders held meeting about 45 minutes," said a TMC source.
Another source said that the heads of the two regional powers might have discussed about the
the results of the general elections to be declared on May 23, and possibly the exit poll predictions.
Most of the opposition leaders across the country, including Ms Banerjee rubbished the pollsters' predictions and said they would wait until May 23.
"I don’t trust Exit Poll gossip. The game plan is to manipulate or replace thousands of EVMs through this gossip. I appeal to all Opposition parties to be united, strong and bold. We will fight this
battle together," she reiterated and would wait for May 23.
Before the polls, Ms Banerjee had predicted "2019 BJP will be finished"and her party would win all the 42 seats in Bengal.
Ms Banerjee, who has been opposing the Modi led BJP government vehemently, had organised a grand all opposition parties mega rally of 23 parties at the Brigade Parade ground on January 19 last where she declared the Lok Sabha poll will bring the end of the BJP rule at the Centre and the saffron brigade would be finished for good.
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has been touring across the country meeting most of the opposition leaders, including Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gndhi.
Mr Naidu, who also held joint campaigns with Ms Banerjee, has been playing the role of a facilitator to bring all non-NDA opposition parties together and form a coalition if the need arises in case of a
hung verdict.
After meetings with the Congress president and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Friday, he had flown to Lucknow, before arriving in Kolkata today.
