Darul Uloom upset over Centre’s stand on triple talaq

Deoband, Oct 9 (UNI) Islamic institution Darul Uloom today opposed the affidavit filed by the Centre on the matter of triple talaq and polygamy of Muslim community in the Supreme Court.
Clerics of Darul Uloom said here that the Centre and Supreme Court cannot be allowed to interfere in Muslim personal law for sake of social reforms.
About the matter of quashing triple talaq and polygamy, Mohatamim of Darul Uloom Deoband Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani said, “Our country is independent. Everyone here has freedom to follow his religion and rituals. Government or Supreme Court cannot interfere in Muslim personal law for the sake of social reform.''
