Darbar Move: Offices close in Jammu, to reopen in Srinagar on May 6

Jammu, Apr 26 (UNI) The Civil Secretariat, the seat of the J&K Government on Friday closed here for next six months and will now reopen in the summer capital Srinagar on May 6 as part of the biannual Durbar move, a practice started by the then Dogra ruler Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1872.
All government departments have been directed to ensure packing of records in boxes after the working hours on the last working day on Friday.
All departments, as per the directions, have already deputed their advance parties, consisting of one gazetted officer and four or five non-gazetted employees who will receive the records in Srinagar.
