Dangal nearing Rs 800 cr in China; crosses Rs 1500 cr mark at worldwide box office

New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) Continuing to make waves in China, Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' is nearing the Rs 800 crore mark there and has crossed the Rs 1500 crore mark in terms of its earnings worldwide, trade sources said today.
The film has total collections of Rs 778.
32 crore in China and is set to cross the Rs 800 crore mark soon at the Chinese box office.
With the huge earnings from China, 'Dangal' has crossed the Rs 1500 crore mark at the global box office with a total worldwide collections of Rs 1522.
66 crore.
Ever since its release in China a few weeks ago, Dangal has been setting new benchmarks at the box office there.
Dangal has become the first Bollywood film to enter the Rs 1500 crore club.
It is the second Indian film to do so after Baahubali 2 and the first Bollywood film to achieve this mark.
Dangal's worldwide collections is the highest earning for an Aamir Khan film ever.
Expressing happiness on 'Dangal' scoring high in China, the actor said he feels that films like it do not have any language or culture barrier and have a global connect.
“I suppose people have loved the film.
These kind of films do not have any language or culture barriers.
These are human stories which connect to everybody, irrespective of their language or region.
So this is the beauty of creative things… that they do not have any national or political boundaries,' the actor said.
A biopic on the life of Olympian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, 'Dangal' is about how he trains his daughters to become world-class wrestlers.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film also starred Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra and Sakshi Tanwar in lead roles.
