Dalit youth tonsured for obstructing sand lorries: SI suspended in AP

Kakinada, Jul 21(UNI) A dalit youth of Vedullapalli village under Sithanagaram police station limits was allegedly taken to police station and subjected to torture besides tonsured him on Monday on the charge of obstructing sand lorries that are moving the sand from sand ramps unauthorizedly .

Shaving of head and mustache besides physically assaulting him at the police station has spared off loud protests from Dalits associations which demanded stringent action against the police and also against those lodged a false complaint against the dalit youth.
