New Delhi, Jul 30 (UNI) After entertaining music lovers with his song "Kudiyan Shehr Diyan" for the forthcoming Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol-starrer film 'Poster Boys', Punjabi pop icon Daler Mehndi has come out with a love ballad titled 'Koee Jachdi Na Thaan". Written and composed by Daler Mehndi in Raag Maalgunji 'Koee Jachdi Na Thaan” is a rabaabi ballad with simple earthy words that express a forlornness of a lover, a seeker who is restless, to whom nothing, no place brings peace. The ballad is about the feelings experienced by the wandering lover who is not satiated with anything. No beautiful surroundings, glitter and glam of the world charm him. He is just yearning for a glimpse of his lover. Composed to the notes of Indian Classical Raag, Raag Maalgunji, this monsoon love ballad’s lyrics are sans sophistication of a rhetoric but have all the yearning melody to strike at the listener’s heart. The song is arranged by Babloo Kumar(of Bolo Ta Ra Ra, Dangal, Dilwale fame). On the Tabla is Ustad Ramjoo Bachhaan (Indian Cinema’s only and leading Dhol Maestro). The song has been mixed and mastered by Aakash Jaitly at the DM Folk Studio which has recently been in limelight with its path breaking chat shows anchored by Daler Mehndi with India’s leading and legendary artists like ghazal maestros Ustad Ahmed Hussain, Mohammed Hussain , and Pakistani legendary artists like Imtiaz Ali, Hussain Bukhsh Gullu. The release of a love ballad by the Punjabi pop icon comes after a very long time. In the past when music industry had the culture of releasing full albums – each Daler Mehndi album boasted of a ballad. “Jehre Dil Nu Pyare”, “Kitey Sun Ve Mahiya”, “Dhol Mahiya”, “Sajna Sathon Duur Na Jaavin” being a few from this genre. “Ru Ba Ru” from Maqbool, “Kajra Re” from Chupke Se , “Doha” from Happily Unmarried fall in this style of mid octave, slow paced ballads.
