Cyber crime graph against women, children sees sudden spurt - State Police

Shimla, Jul 14(UNI) Himachal Pradesh Police on Tuesday accepted that the state has registered a sudden spurt in the Cyber crime graph against women, children and gullible people who have been victims of black mail and have been harassed by online criminals besides being duped into withdrawing their hard earned money .
SP Dr Khusal Sharma the HP police spokesman in a statement said that they had noticed a spurt in cybercrime against woman and children in recent time. In most cases these cyber criminals had somehow managed to get hold of photos of these women, some of them obscene, and were blackmailed by them by threatening to circulate them online.
In many instances the suspects have morphed ordinary photos of women to defame them. Apparently many women are not aware of possibility of misuse of their photos by these criminals.
