CVC processes 3280 complaints in July, seeks reports in 48 cases

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has processed 3282 complaints, sought investigation report in 48 complaints and sanctioned prosecutions and advised penal actions against several officers found guilty during investigation and Inquiry in various Ministries and Organisation in the month of July.
According to the Commission’s performance report of July, it issued sanctions for prosecution against Indian Railway’s divisional engineer Avnish Kumar, Adesh kumar Gupta of Department of Telecommunications and Ms Shashikala Meena of State Bank of India.
The panel also disposed of 22 complaints of whistle blowers and advised imposition of major penalties in respect of 109 officials of various Ministries and departments.

Prosecution sanctions were issued by the Competent Authorities in respect of 20 officials of various Ministries, Departments and organitions and major penalty proceedings initiated against 91 officials of various organisation.
The Commission advised imposition of major penalty against Central Board of Excise and Custom’s Commissioner CM Chandolia and New Delhi Municipal Corporation’s executive engineer Kamal Singh Meena.
On the advice of the Commission, the Competent Authorities imposed major penalties in respect of 109 officials of various Ministries and departments. This includes demotions, reduction in pay and withholding of 10 percent of pension for a certain period.
Intensive Examination of six works carried out by Chief Technical Examiner’s organisation resulted in recoveries to the tune of Rs 30.47 lakhs during July, 2018.
“Commission provided inputs in respect of 69 cases for vigilance clearance of officials for Board level appointments in Central Public Sector Enterprises. In addition, references of 312 officials of All India Services and Central Services were considered for vigilance clearance in matters of empanelment, promotion and inputs provided by the Commission”, the CVC’s July performance report said.
The panel also advised the disciplinary action against 348 officials’ of different departments or Ministries. Disciplinary action includes penalty and administrative warnings.
