CSE ropes in teachers, students to save environment

New Delhi, Jan 30 (UNI) Centre for Science and Environment Director General Sunita Narain has stressed the need for teachers and students to understand the ''politics of environment'' as well as what they can do for it.
Speaking as a chief guest at the newly launched Green Educators’ Network here, Ms Narain said, ''College students should monitor the environment – particularly air and water – and create maps which identify polluted areas." The teachers, she said, will play the role of multipliers under the network and help in getting knowledge on environment across to more and more students.
Under the initiative, a two-day Green Educators’ Knowledge Conclave was also organised here for teachers to build a committed network of colleges, faculty and young minds, to enable them to make informed choices on issues of environment and development of this country.
