Criminals posing as police, rob senior citizens with gold jewellery in Nagpur

Nagpur, Nov 10 (UNI) In a spate of audacious daylight frauds, criminals posing as police officers robbed elderly residents across Nagpur, making off with gold jewellery worth several lakhs of rupees, officials said on Monday
In the first case, Tehsil area, around 10:45 am near Amarkar Jewellers on Itwari Road, four men convinced 55-year-old Mamta Dhadiwal that they were police officers and persuaded her to hand over her gold jewellery. The culprits fled with valuables worth approximately Rs 3.7 lakh.
In second case , in Jaripatka, two men impersonating police officers deceived 67-year-old Jugalkishore Shahu, taking away a gold chain valued at about Rs 5 lakh. The victims were reportedly given a paper bag containing stones to replace the jewellery.
