Cricket match at dumping site in Chandigarh under ‘beat the Plastic’ campaign

Chandigarh, Sept 15 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh in collaboration with Dumping Ground Joint Action Committee, Dadumajra on Sunday organized 20-20 Vishvkarma cricket tournament at the landfill site, Dumping ground Dadumajra, here today under ‘beat the plastic’ campaign.
K K Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh formally inaugurated the match in presence of Rajesh Kumar, Mayor of Chandigarh and local area residents.
While addressing the locals and players of the both teams, the Commissioner assured that feasibility to develop this ground as play ground for playing cricket will be checked and developed as per the guidelines of landfill to facilitate the local children and players.
