Mumbai, Aug 16 (UNI) Governor of Maharashtra,C Vidyasagar Rao, has expressed his grief on the demise of former Indian Cricket team captain Ajit Wadekar in Mumbai.
In a condolence message, the Governor on Wednesday said, 'Wadekar was one of the most aggressive batsmen and successful captains of the Indian Cricket team. By securing a win for the Indian cricket team on overseas tours, he had boosted the morale of all sports persons in the country. It can be said that he instilled the ‘can do’ spirit among sports persons."
"As a Manager of the Indian cricket team and member of the Selection Committee, Wadekar continued to make valuable contributions to cricket in India. In his demise, the world of cricket has lost a bright shining star,' the Governor added.
