CrashPlan targets double-digit growth, expands India operations

Bengaluru, Oct 10 (UNI) CrashPlan, a global leader in data protection, is targeting double-digit revenue growth while strengthening its presence in India as a strategic hub for development and innovation. CEO Dan Beer, on his first visit to India since taking charge in April 2025, emphasised that India is central to both the company’s commercial expansion and global technology strategy.
“India and the UAE will contribute significantly to our growth plans. Profitability allows us to reinvest in infrastructure, talent, and innovation to maintain sustained double-digit revenue growth,” Beer said. Currently, CrashPlan’s revenue is just under 100 million US dollars, and the company plans to expand its product portfolio to include AI-driven data services alongside Microsoft 365, cloud servers, virtual machines, and endpoint protection.
A major driver of this expansion is the September 2024 acquisition of Indian company Parabalu, whose technology has been integrated into CrashPlan’s platform. “Parabalu was a natural fit. It enables us to protect data, develop AI services, and expand our enterprise solutions while generating rapid synergies across R&D, IT, sales, compliance, and marketing,” Beer said. Since the acquisition, CrashPlan has doubled its headcount in India and aims to make Bangalore its premier Global Competency Center (GCC).
Talent acquisition is a top priority, with the company hiring across R&D, IT, finance, security, marketing, and sales operations. Developers with AI, Python, and Java skills are in high demand, while internships and university programs help build a long-term talent pipeline.
CrashPlan’s solutions are designed for broad enterprise adoption, serving both startups and large corporations. Indian clients include analytics unicorn Fractal Analytics. The company is also developing AI and conversational services atop secured data, allowing enterprises to interact with data without recovery processes.
While the company currently maintains a single office in Bengaluru sales personnel operate across India and the UAE to stay close to customers. Future acquisitions are likely, targeting companies synergistic to CrashPlan’s platform, though no specifics were disclosed. Competitors include Commvault, Veeam, and Druva, but CrashPlan differentiates itself as a cloud-native SaaS solution offering modern, flexible alternatives to traditional on-premise tools.
With a growth-driven strategy anchored in India, AI-enabled data protection, and enterprise-focused solutions, CrashPlan is positioning itself as a leading global player in secure data management and innovation.
