CPM to submit memo over Dharamsala college ragging, sexual assault case

Shimla/Dharamsala, Jan 2(UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has decided to submit a memorandum to the Himachal Pradesh government in Shimla, seeking strict action and a time-bound investigation into the alleged ragging, sexual assault, and death of a 19-year-old woman student of a college in Dharamsala.
The move comes a day after Dharamsala police registered an FIR against a college teacher and three women students in the case.
Police said the FIR has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 3 of the Himachal Pradesh Educational Institutions (Prohibition of Ragging) Act.

Forest fire incidents may rise in Theog, SDM says issuing SOPs

Shimla, Jan 14 (UNI) Rising incidents of fire has taken around 10 lives in last three days, also forced the state authority to sound alarm to public as its extreme cold weather.
Theog a hill subdivision located about 30 kilometres east of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, in northern India was put on high risk following heavy inflammable pine forest and grass pastures.
