CPM seeks apology from BJP observer Sunil Deodhar

Agartala, Apr 23 (UNI) The CPI-M Tripura state committee asked BJP central observer Sunil Deodhar to seek unconditional apology for his statement against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and the Left Front government in the state. CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar alleged that Mr Deodhar labelled baseless allegation of corruption against the government and made some derogatory comments against Mr Sarkar intending to malign the party. The party also charged him for triggering communal tension among Hindu and Muslims. The CPI-M also held protest rally in Bishalgarh last evening against BJP while the cattle traders association threatened to close down the domestic markets of the state unless BJP stops harassment against the cow transporters. BJP leader Deodhar, two days ago in a rally at Bishalgarh in West Tripur, alleged that Mr Sarkar has been leading a luxurious life using public money. Pretending as the poorest chief minister of the country, Mr Sarkar uses expensive shoes, attires, spectacles and other personal belongings. “Sarkar’s daily expenditure and luxuries are more than double than many chief ministers of India. But using communist tag, Sarkar skilfully used a section of media to portray him as poorest CM. In two occasions of his party programs in Jorhat of Assam and Bangaluru he travelled by train and made a false statement that he used to move by public transport in the state. But in Tripura even for his inter-district movement he prefers travel by Pwan Hans choppers,” Mr Deodhar alleged. More UNI BB AD1158
