CPI (M) protest before HRTC Office over frequent bus accidents in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Jul 11 (UNI) State unit of CPI (M) staged a 'Dharana' (protest) before HRTC office on Thursday against their mismanagement, leading to frequent bus accidents, loss of lives, overloading by private buses and inconvenience being caused to passengers.
Numerous party activists sit on dharana before the Managing Director, HRTC office at Old Bus Stand here today.
This protest was held after management failed to convene the meeting, which was scheduled for Jul 11 in the party's memorendum submitted to MD HRTC on July 7.
The protest was attended by the party Secretary Dr Onkar Shad and sitting MLA Mr Rakesh Singha along with others party leaders.
"People are getting late to their working places, schools and office as HRTC or Private buses are not stopping buses to take passengers after the Banjar and Jhenjadhi road accident in Kullu and Shimla recently", Mr Shad said while addressing the Dharana.
Party alleged that state government is not taking any steps like filling vacant post of mechanic, driver and conductors in the HRTC to improve the poor conditions of buses and management.
Since the State concerned agencies could not learn anything from the recent or past bus mishaps and overloading this protest was necessary, the commuters who travel by public transport are being troubled by the private bus operators or Management of HRTC as the people are not getting bus services in time, the party alleged during the protest.
