CPI(M) leader MM Mani sparks outrage for insulting voters after LDF setback

Idukki (Kerala), Dec 13 (UNI) Senior CPI(M) leader and former Kerala minister M.M. Mani has triggered widespread criticism after making disparaging remarks about voters in the wake of the Left Democratic Front’s (LDF) poor performance in the 2025 local body elections in the State.
Reacting to the electoral outcome, Mani alleged that sections of voters, including pension beneficiaries, had acted irresponsibly by voting against the LDF despite receiving welfare benefits.
He described their conduct as “shabby” and claimed that voters were swayed by momentary emotions rather than assessing the government’s development initiatives.
