The agitators maintained that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre had failed to check the price rise while it was granting tax concessions to multi-millioners and the erstwhile Puducherry administration also not conducted the local body election which was due for more than two years. The state government had also failed to generate employment opportunities and fulfilling the promises made to the people.
