New Delhi, Jul 13 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Monday expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health condition of several jailed political and human rights activists and demanded release of all such prisoners, particularly revolutionary poet Varavara Rao whose health condition is reported to be alarming.
The party Polit Bureau noted in a statement here that the country's jails were already full and basic facilities were not available there. In such a situation, concerns have increased about the health of these prisoners.
The statement said that prisoners such as Akhil Gogoi have been found to be Coronavirus positive and the condition of revolutionary poet Varavara Rao has become extremely critical.
