CPI (M) accuses BJP of unleashing terror in Tripura

Agartala, Nov 30 (UNI) The opposition CPI (M) alleging that ruling BJP has been unleashing terror tactics to keep the opposition out of electoral race, met State Election Commissioner (SEC) G K Rao seeking security for submission of nominations and individual level security for the contesting candidates.
CPI (M) state secretary Goutam Das along with leaders of CPI, RSP and Forward Block demanded protection for opposition parties during their participation of democratic process in the ensuing by-elections for the vacant seats of civic bodies.
"After by-poll notification, in spite of the fact that most of the seats were vacated abnormally and threats and intimidation by miscreants of ruling party, the ruling supporters has started the violence against all possible candidates of LF after poll notification", said Das adding that among the vacant seats 95 per cent were created through intimidation by suppressing the democratic rights of elected members.
