Covid cases reach 1450 in Manipur

Imphal, Jul 9 (UNI) The cumulative number of Covid 19 positive cases is 1,450 in Manipur.

The numbers of active and recovered cases are 651 and 799 respectively. The recovery rate is 55.1 per cent.

Dr. Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director & Spokesperson Health Department, Manipur said in the past 24-hours, 15 persons (5M, 10F) were confirmed as new COVID 19 cases at the VRDLs of RIMS (1), JNIMS (10) and Testing Centre, DH, Jiribam (4). They belonged to the districts of Bishnupur (1), Churachandpur (8), Imphal East (1), Jiribam (4) and Tamenglong (1). They will be shifted to respective Covid Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the past twenty four hours, 6 persons were discharged from CCCs of Meitram (4), Ukhrul (1) and Kasom Khullen (1) after they were found COVID 19 free on RT PCR test.

Agartala, Aug 6 (UNI) Amid Covid pandemic the first cargo-carrying express goods train -
Vyapar Mala Express reached Tripura within 68 hrs from Delhi to Jirania covering 2360
kilometres distance with 58 wagons two days ago, transport department officials said
here today.
Officials stated this was a special type of cargo service where traders can book part
of the goods carrying rake as per their requirement or supply order. The first goods
express train Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) which left from Delhi Kishanganj station
of Northern Railway to Jirania station on August 1 last.

Agartala, Aug 6 (UNI) Cancelling the bail by a local court, Tripura High Court today asked
all the four accused, including a government advocate, to surrender forthwith for spitting
on a lady doctor at a Covid centre two weeks ago and told police to conduct Test
Identification (TI) parade immediately.
