Covid: 8,625 fresh cases, 198 deaths in Punjab

Chandigarh, May 10 (UNI) Punjab reported 198 Covid deaths and 8,625 fresh cases on Monday, raising the death toll to 10,704 and the infection tally to 4,50,674 in the state.
As many as 30 deaths were reported in Ludhiana, while the virus claimed 19 lives in Bathinda, 17 in Sangrur, 14 each in Patiala and SAS Nagar, 13 in Muktsar, 11 in Ferozepur, 10 each in Amritsar and Ropar, 9 in Hoshiarpur, 8 each in Jalandhar, Fazilka and Pathankot, 5 in Faridkot, 4 each in Gurdaspur, Kapurthala and Mansa, 3 each in Fatehgarh Sahib and SBS Nagar, 2 in Barnala and one death each in Moga and Tarn Taran.
Of the fresh Covid cases, 1470 were in Ludhiana, 1382 in SAS Nagar, 676 in Patiala, 629 in Bathinda, 619 in Jalandhar, 561 in Amritsar, 401 in Muktsar, 396 in Pathankot, 385 in Hoshiarpur, 353 in Mansa, 283 in Fazilka, 214 in Sangrur and 206 in Gurdaspur. The other districts of the state recorded less than two hundred cases today.

Jammu, Nov 30 (UNI) After taking cognizance of uploading offensive content by a student, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has launched the investigation, which will be taken to a logical conclusion and no one will be allowed to hurt the religious feelings of any community, and nobody will be allowed to use this incident for malicious purposes either, said Director General of Police, J&K, R.R. Swain, at a press briefing here on Thursday.
