COVID 19 tally crosses 1 lakh in Bihar

Patna, Aug 15 (UNI) COVID 19 cases continue to surge in Bihar where 3,536 new positive cases were detected, taking the tally of coronavirus positive cases to 1,01,906 in the state on the Independence day.
Health department sources said here today that of the new cases, Patna reported with 493 cases followed by Madhubani with 187, Muzaffarpur 166, East Champaran 157, Purnea 152, Katihar 151, West Champaran 141, Begusarai 139, Gaya and Sitamarhi 138 each, Madhepura 122, Saharsa 115, Saran 100, Jehanabad 89, Buxar 85, Rohtas 73, Araria 72, Nalanda 71, Bhojpur 70, Darbhanga and Supaul 69 each, Sheikhpura 66, Siwan 64, Aurangabad 62, Munger 56, Bhagalpur 54, Samastipur 52, Vaishali 51, Gopalganj 46, Khagaria 45, Kaimur 43, Lakhisarai and Kishanganj 40 each, Nawada 38, Banka 35, Arwal 20, Shekhar 12 and Jamui 9.
Among these cases, samples of five persons including two each of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand and one of Maharashtra were collected and examined at different places in Bihar.
