COVID-19: S Korea's tally reaches 12,850

Seoul, Jul 1 (UNI) South Korea's COVID-19 tally has reached 12,850 as 51 more cases were registered during the past 24 hours, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said on Wednesday.

The daily reported cases remained above 50 for the third consecutive day due to the impact of small infection clusters and imported cases.

Of the new cases, 15 were imported from overseas, which means that total number of imported cases now stands at 1,598.

The small cluster infections were mainly linked to church gatherings.

No new death was confirmed during the past day hence the death toll due to the pandemic stands at 282. The nation's total fatality rate stands at 2.19 percent, Xinhua quoted the KCDC as saying.

The past day saw the recovery of 76 more patients as they were discharged from quarantine after making full recovery, this takes the total number of people who have recovered till now to 11,613.

South Korea's recovery rate stands at 90.4 per
