COVID-19 positive cases in K'taka soars to 4063

Bengaluru, Jun 3(UNI) With the reporting of 267 fresh cases of COVID-19, the total number of people tested positive for the pandemic, was surged to 4063 in Karnataka on Wednesday, sources said.

Among the 267 fresh cases which were detected in Kalaburagi district accounted for a higher number of 105 cases followed by Udupi 67, Raichur 35, Bengaluru Urban 20 and Mandya 13.

Fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic also reported from Yadagiri, Hassana, Davanagere, Vijayapura, Dakshinakannada, Mysuru, Bagalakote, Shivamogga, Ballari, Dharawada and Bengaluru Rural districts.

The death toll due to the pandemic also rose to 53 when a 80-year-old female patient, with underlying medical conditions, died in Davanagere district.

As many as 111 COVID-19 patients, got discharged from the hospital, after completely cured from the disease.

The sources added that among those who were tested positive, majority of them had arrived from neighboring Maharashtra state.
