Covid-19: over 20,000 new cases detected in M'rashtra

Mumbai, Sep 26 (UNI) Maharashtra on Saturday reported 20,419 new Covid-19 cases and 430 deaths, taking the tally and the death toll of such cases to 13,21,176 and 35,191, respectively.
On the other hand, 23,644 patients were recovered today across the state, taking the cumulative count of recoveries till date to 10,16,450.
There are now 2,69,119 active cases under treatment in hospitals across the state, the state Health department informed.

Palghar: Fate of 1 13L farmers uncertain, just 32k have crops insurance

Palghar, Oct 20 (UNI) Just 32,000 or 22 per cent farmers out of 1,45,000 across this district have taken crops insurance, apprised Palghar Superintending Agricultural Officer Kashinath Tarpase on Tuesday while putting a question mark over the fate of those who haven't insured their produce.
This means the compensation will be paid only among these 32,000, he stated, adding that the four talukas of Wada, Vikramgadh, Palghar and Vasai have suffered heavy losses due to the recent unexpected rains.
Meanwhile, Collector Manik Gursal has ordered the revenue officials to complete the 'panchnama' of the damaged produce so that the insurance claims can be settled speedily.

20 foreign Tablighi Jamaat attendees acquitted
