COVID-19 on decline in Meghalaya, claims CM

Shillong, Dec 2 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Wednesday claimed that the COVID-19 situation in the State was coming down, even as he cautioned against letting the “guard down”.
“We are seeing that the overall trend is coming down, and the number of positive cases is coming down which is a good message but I think it is important we should not let our guard down,” he told reporters after a review meeting.
The meeting, the Chief Minister said would come up with more “basic guidelines and safety protocols” if necessary, in view of the festive season.

Shillong, April 15 (UNI) Vigilance by the police and paramilitary forces has been mounted along the Meghalaya-Assam inter-state boundary and the international border that the state shares with neighbouring Bangladesh in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for April 19.
Meanwhile, in a significant joint operation conducted on Monday, the troops of BSF Meghalaya Frontier and Meghalaya Police seized a huge quantity of dry betel nuts from the bordering area of the South Garo Hills district of the state.
