Covid 19 : Odisha to install three more RTPCR

Bhubaneswar, Jul 9 (UNI) Odisha government today decided to install three more RTPCR machines, one each at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, VIMSAR, Burla and at Puri due to the surge in Covid 19 positive cases.

The decision was taken at the Group of Minister’s meeting held under the Chairmanship of the Finance Minister through video conferencing.

The meeting also decided to install RTPCR machines at Angul, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Kalahandi with funds from the DMF for effective management of Coronavirus.

A decision was also taken to procure five Tunat Machines with DMF for Covid testing in Mayurbhanj District.

At present, around 7,000 Covid tests are being conducted daily in 26 laboratories- 19 government and 7 private laboratories.

Participating in the meeting, state Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das said arrangements will be made for infrared thermometers in all medical colleges, District Headquarter hospitals, CHC, PHC for Covid management.
