Covid-19: Minister urges Karnataka CM to help Kannadigas residing in Mumbai

Bengaluru, Apr 25 (UNI) Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary in a letter to the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has requested his intervention in protecting Kannadigas residing at Mumbai.
In the letter, Mr Poojary said that Kannadigas including those from coastal Karnataka are stranded in Mumbai with their food stocks and money being exhausted.
He said the State government must set up a helpline for them and inform the local authorities there to get food items and other required provisions to the affected Kannadigas.

Chennai, July 11 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday urged External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar to take steps to repatriate 40 fishermen from the State stranded in Iran due to the corona pandemic.In a Demi-Official letter to Dr Jaishankar, he recalled his May 19 letter to him in which he had requested to repatriate stranded fishermen from Iran to Tamil Nadu.
