Covid-19: Karnataka brought under 33-hour curfew to fight against Coronavirus

Bengaluru, July 4 (UNI) Karnataka State was brought under a 33-hour curfew from 0800 hrs on Saturday to 0500 hrs on Monday in an attempt to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has instructed each and every department to be very strict and implement the guidelines without any fear or favour.
He has also appealed to the public to follow the guidelines and remain inside their houses to give room for Coronavirus to attack. During the curfew, only essential services will be available and people will not be allowed to roam in the roads till the curfew ends on Monday at 0500 hrs.
Transport service will be off the road during the curfew and so there will be no service by KSRTC or BMTC. Even private service of auto-rickshaw, Ola, Uber, private buses will not run for the next 33 hours.
Ruling out the possibility of reintroducing lockdown, Mr Yediyurappa told newsmen that "there is no necessity to re-introduce lockdown as I am confident that people will cooperate with the government and will follow the guidelines including wearing masks, maintaining social distance and more than all will not venture out of their house."
Only Medical shops, Mik, Hotels will remain open only fore parcel service, sweetmeat shop will be open tomorrow, Liquor shops will remain closed during the curfew. Police have clamped prohibitory order under section 144.
Borders with neighbouring Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala will be closed and no vehicle will be allowed inside or outside thus people will not be allowed to enter or go out. Barricades will be put up and checkpost will be strengthened.
