Covid-19: Jailmates of Central Prison make masks

Bengaluru, Mar 17 (UNI) Inmates of Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara in the outskirts of this state capital, are helping the authorities to overcome the shortage of masks by manufacturing them in the prison, to curtail the spread of Novel Coronavirus.
Prison sources told UNI that in all, 70 prisoners have been trained to manufacture Masks medically. The trained inmates have so far, produced 3000 Masks and are keen to produce more, to overcome the shortage in the market at present. There are about 4000 inmates in the jail serving various terms.
Taking advantage of shortage of Masks, some businessmen were selling Masks at a high cost.

It may be noted that Mr Kandasamy began the dharna on the night of Sunday last stating that he will continue it till Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi sanctions 15 files pertaining to his departments.
