Tehran, Feb 25 (UNI) Iran's Health Ministry on Tuesday confirmed three new deaths from COVID-19, taking the death toll to 15 people.
"95 people are confirmed to be affected by coronavirus out of which 15 have passed away", news agency ISNA quoted Health Ministry official Kianush Jahanpur as saying.
Qom city is the epicenter of the coronavirus disease. Iranian official said that spread of coronavirus will continue in the upcoming days.
The new coronavirus, officially named COVID-19, was first detected in China in late December and has since spread to more than 25 other countries, prompting the World Health Organization to declare a global health emergency.
The outbreak has already left over 77,000 people infected worldwide and resulted in more than 2,600 deaths in mainland China.
A joint WHO-China mission has concluded its work, after traveling to several provinces, including Wuhan, epicenter of the outbreak.
It found that the epidemic peaked and plateaued between January 23 and February 2, and has been declining steadily ever since.
Outside China, there are now 2,074 cases of COVID-19 in 28 countries, with 23 deaths.
