Covid-19: Death toll crosses 200-mark; Infection tally soars to 7,445

Lucknow, May 29 (UNI) Covid-19 death toll in the state crossed the 200-mark as 201 patients lost their lives to the pandemic, State Health Department updated on Friday.
The overall infection cases have reached 7,445 after 275 fresh cases.
Of the total 4 deaths till Friday evening, one each was reported from G B Nagar Mathura, Ambedkarnagar and Unnao.

A total of 4,410 patients have recovered including 194 today while the total number of active patients standing at 2,834.

Deaths were reported from following parts of the state: one each at Lalitpur, Mohaba, Muzaffarnagar, Etawah, Rae Bareli, Maharajganj, Barabanki, Sidharthnagar, Amroha, Baghpat, Bijnore, Hapur, Shravasti, Ayodhya and Kanpur Dehat, 3 in Ambedkarnagar, 2 in Unnao, 2 in Chitrakoot, 2 in Bulandshahar, 2 in Lucknow, 2 in Kushinagar 2 in Azamgarh, 2 in Pratapgarh, 3 in Etah, 3 in Jaunpur, 2 in Bareilly, 5 in Gorakhpur, 24 in Meerut, 3 in Prayagraj, 11 in Moradabad, 10 in Firozabad, 4 in Jhansi, 6 in Gautam Buddha Nagar, 4 in Ghaziabad, 2 in Jalaun, 4 in Basti, 15 in Aligarh, 40 in Agra, 11 in Kanpur, 2 in Mainpuri, 6 in Sant Kabir Nagar, 4 in Varanasi and 6 in Mathura.

The COVID health report says that the screening of 10,08,531 migrant workers has been done. Out of 62,141 migrants, 1,926 were found positive.

Among the districts where the highest number of positive cases were detected on Friday were 26 in Kanpur, 20 in Azamgarh, 18 in Lucknow,15 in Aligarh 14 in GB Nagar,12 in Muzaffarnagar, 11 Jaunpur and 10 each in Meerut and Moradabad.

According to the reports, the cumulative number of passengers under observation as on today was 3,96,659, the total number of symptomatic travellers identified in UP till date was 89,044 and number of symptomatic travellers hospitalised was 2936.

It further said that number of people under institutional quarantine was 9,556 and the total number of travellers who have completed 28 days observation period was 1,30,858.

The total number of samples sent for testing was 2,70,920in which 7,445 were found positive while 2,61911 were negative and 1,564 are awaited.

Till date, 5,28,069 travellers from corona affected countries and different States have been identified and tracked by District Surveillance Units, WHO-NPSP teams and supervisors of RNTCP.

Altogether 18,476 contacts of various positive cases are also being tracked and are in fine health.
