COVID-19 cases in India cross 42 k mark

New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) With 2553 fresh cases adding up in the past 24 hours, the country's Covid-19 count on Monday rose to 42533, government data said.

According to the ministry's update, 73 deaths due were registered in various states in the past 24 hours, while the total fatalities, so far, mounted to 1373.

Currently, the total number of active cases of Coronavirus in the country stand at 29453, the health ministry said, while the number of recovered cases are now 11706.

In the past 24 hours , 1074 cases have been reportedly recovered , while the recovery rate in the country stood at 26.59 per cent on Sunday.

The worst affected COVID-19 state in the country--Maharashtra now houses almost 13k cases at 12974 , with fatalities mounting to 548 , followed by neighbouring Gujarat with 50428 cases and 290 fatalities reported so far.

National Capital is at number three in terms of the maximum cases of the deadly virus now housing 4549 cases with a total of 64 fatalities so far ,while the number in Madhya Pradesh at present is 2846 with 156 deaths.

Rajasthan , Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are at present housing , 2886, 3023 , and 2645 confirmed cases of respectively.

New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) As the nationwide lockdown 4.0 comes to an end on Sunday, with the highest ever jump of infections with 8380 cases, India's Covid-19 tally reached to 1,82,143, while the death toll rose to 5,164 with 193 fresh fatalities, according to the Health Ministry.
