COVID-19: Cases in Afghanistan exceed 12,000

Kabul, May 27(UNI) Total number of COVID-19 cases in Afghanistan has reached 12,456 as 625 new positive cases were registered in the country during the past 24 hours, announced the Afghan Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday.
The ministry also confirmed the death of seven more patients in the past 24 hours taking the toll in the country to 227.
Tolonews quoted the Ministry as saying that till today 1,138 people have recovered from the dreaded disease and there are 11,091 active cases in the country.
