COVID-19: AP reports 40 deaths, 2593 fresh cases

Vijayawada, July 16 (UNI) On the third successive day, Andhra Pradesh witnessed a large number of deaths of Coronavirus as 40 patients died while 2593 fresh cases were reported during a period of 24 hours.
A health bulletin here on Thursday said that 22,304 samples were tested from 0900 hrs on Wednesday to 0900 hrs today of which 2593 were diagnosed positive for Coronavirus, taking the tally to 38,044.
On the third successive day, 40 deaths were reported in AP. Highest number of deaths 114 reported in Kurnool district, 85 in Krishna district, 38 in Chittoor district, 35 in Guntur district, 32 in WG district and 25 in Visakhapatnam district.
Large number of positive cases was reported in Kurnool district 4,816, Guntur district (3963), Anantapur district (3987), Chittoor district (3536), East Godavari district (3862), Kakapo district (2220) and WG district (2428).
So far 19,393 patients have been discharged from various hospitals as they recovered while 18,159 are undergoing treatment. So far 12,40,267 swab samples have been tested in the State.
