COVID-19: Africa's  tally exceeds 1,68,000 cases

Geneva, Switzerland, Jun 5 (UNI) Africa's COVID-19 tally has reached 168,464, and about 4,700 people have succumbed to the contagious disease, informed the World Health Organization's (WHO) on Friday.
"Over 168,464 confirmed #COVID19 cases on the African continent - with more than 73,000 recoveries & 4,700 deaths," the WHO office twitted.
The UN health agency said that South Africa with 40,792 positive cases, Egypt with 28,615 cases and Nigeria with 11,516 cases are some of the worse affected countries of the continent.
Egypt, South Africa and Algeria have registered the highest number COVID-19 related fatalities recording 1,088, 848 and 681 deaths respectively.
