Court orders to issue summons against RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari in a defamation case

Patna, Sep 18 (UNI) A local court today took cognisance of a matter related to defamation case involving RJD vice president Shivanand Tiwari and ordered to issue summons against him.

Additional chief judicial magistrate cum judge of special court constituted for hearing criminal cases pending against MPs and MLAs Rajiv Nayan ordered for issuing summons against Mr Tiwari after finding the case registered under section 500 of Indian Penal Code prima facie correct.

The court took cognisance of the matter after Bihar water resources minister Sanjay Kumar Jha had filed a defamation complaint against Mr Tiwari, who had allegedly asked in a press conference held on August 7, 2018 why chief minister Nitish Kumar visited Mr Jha's house and what was their relationship.
