Court orders police to register FIR against Pratyay Amrit, parents

Muzaffarpur, Jun 29 (UNI) Taking cognizance of a complaint petition, a local court today ordered
police to register an FIR against senior IAS officer and Chairman cum Managing Director(CMD)
of Bihar State Power Holding Corporation Pratyay Amrit, his parents and a property dealer in
connection with attempt to murder case, an offshoot of land dispute.
The court of sub-judge Rashmi ordered Muzaffarpur police to lodge an FIR against Mr Amrit and others at Sakra police station after taking cognizance of a complaint petition filed by one Kumod
Chaudhary, who charged the accused of trying to eliminate him when protested felling of trees in an orchard at Repura village.
Mr Chaudhary alleged that Mr Amrit and his parents directed a property dealer Vijay Kumar Thakur
to thrash him severely when he protested felling of trees on a plot, of which he was owner. The
incidenttook place on June 1, but Sakra police refused to register an FIR in this connection.
Despite making complaints through registered post, no FIR was lodged forcing Mr Chaudhary to
file a complaint petition in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ram Chandra Prasad, who
transferred the case to court of sub-judge Rashmi.
The complainant alleged that Mr Amrit, his parents Ripusudan Srivastav and Kavita Verma were present on the spot when Vijay Kant Thakur, on their instigation, beat up him severely and tried to
strangle with a towel.
