Perambalur District and Sessions Judge A.Nazeema Banu issued the NBW as the DMDK leader did not attend even a single hearing so far in the defamation case and also failing to inform the court about his absences. The case was filed against Vijayakanth by Public Prosecutor K.Kulothungan before the court on November 23, 2012. It was alleged, the DMDK leader made some defaming comments against Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary Ms.J.Jayalalitha at a public meeting held in Perambalur on August 14, 2012.
