New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) A Delhi Court extended the seven-day NIA custody of a suspected operative of the Indian Mujahideen Abdul Wahid Siddibapa, to verify the financial transactions. A Red Corner notice was issued against Siddibapa in December 2013. He was detained in the United Arab Emirates and arrested in January 2014. He was arrested on the charge of conspiring to stage terror attacks at various places in India. The suspect was wanted for his alleged involvement in the Mumbai serial blasts (July 2006) , Delhi blasts (the 2008) and the Chinnaswamy Stadium blast (2010) in Bengaluru. The NIA, seeking 15-day remand of Siddibapa, submitted before the court that his custody was required to verify the financial transaction in Dubai and he had to be taken to various places. It is alleged that Siddibapa recruited Indian youth for the Indian Mujahideen from Dubai and funded to the activities. It is further alleged that Siddibapa had been in touch with other IM operatives. Counsel for the suspect opposed the remand plea of NIA before the court by submitting that he has been falsely implicated in the matter. Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Pandit, after hearing the arguments on behalf of the Prosecution and the Defence Counsel, allowed the remand application of NIA to quiz Siddibapa and adjourned the matter for June 4.
