New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Metropolitan Magistrate Harvinder Singh today instructed the Election Commission of India to authenticate the certificate of former Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani who allegedly gave false information regarding her educational qualifications while filing an affidavit. Ahmed Khan, a freelance writer, has filed a complaint against Smriti Irani for providing contradictory affidavits about her educational qualifications during different elections. It is alleged by Khan that Smriti Irani, in her affidavit for the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, had stated her educational qualification as B.A. from Delhi University (school of correspondence). But while filing an affidavit in her Rajya Sabha nomination papers from Gujarat in 2011, she said her highest educational qualification was B.com Part 1 (correspondence course) from Delhi University. He further said that in 2014 Smriti Irani gave discrepant information without clarification. October 15 was set for the next hearing. UNI XC RP1915
