Couple held for selling Ganja

Puducherry, Dec 5 (UNI) A couple hailing from Tamil Nadu were arrested on Thursday on charges of selling Ganja to youths and students here.

According to police, neighbours noticed that several youths are visiting a house at Mutialpet even during night time and suspecting something wrong they informed the police.
Following this, police conducted a raid on the house and seized six Ganja packets of eight grams and arrested Jyothimani (34) and his wife Sumathi.
Police said both are from Villippuram and they hired a house here and were doing Ganja business.

On interrogation ,they revealed that they are getting Gunja from one Umamaheswaran of Thiruvannamalai.
Police also arrested Umamaheswaran, the whole sale Ganja trader.

Meanwhile, police conducted raids on different shops across Puducherry on Thursday and seized several packets of tobacco products including Hans.
