Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 26 (UNI) Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Tuesday said the country is heading towards success in its fight against COVID pandemic.
Addressing the Republic Day Parade after hoisting the national flag at the Central Stadium here, the Governor also praised the Kerala Government for its effective prevention efforts to counter the pandemic.
Praising the high-tech programmes implemented by the State Education Department, he said the online class programme initiated by the state government during the pandemic period is a noble model for the entire country.
Pointing out that the Life Mission Project is a model for the country in providing free houses to homeless people in the State, he said almost 2.5 poor families got the benefit of the project.
He also added that "Our unwavering trust in democracy reflects deep respect for the heroes whose blood, sweat and toil gave us the Spring of Freedom and dignity we enjoy today."
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan participated in the ceremony along with his family. The ceremony is carried out in accordance with the Covid 19 protocol. The Governor hoisted the flag at 0900 hrs.
