New Delhi, Apr 25 (UNI) Counting of votes for the elections to the three Municipal corporations will start at 0800 hours tomorrow amid tight security arrangements. The state election commission has set up 35 counting centres across the city. The counting of votes for 104 wards of the South Delhi Municipal corporation will be held at 13 counting centres while 16 counting centres have been set up for 103 wards of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation. Election to the Sarai Pipal Thala ward was postponed due to the death of the candidate from the ward. Counting for 63 wards of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation will be held at six counting centres. Election to the Maujpur ward in EDMC has been postponed due to the death of a candidate. Election to the three MCDs were held on April 23. The exit polls for the elections predicted a sweep for the BJP in the three MCDs, while putting the Aam Aadmi Party at second spot and the Congress in third spot. The Aam Aadmi Party has raised a question mark on the working of the EVMs and has warned that of the results of the elections are as per the exit polls, the party would launch an agitation. Sources said that a meeting of the AAP poll observers was held at the residence of Mr Kejriwal over the exit poll results. A total of 54 per cent voters exercised their franchise in the elections to the 270 wards of the MCDs. The polls are a matter of prestige for the BJP, the Conrgess and the AAP. While the BJP is looking to continue its momentum from the UP and Uttarakhand assembly polls, the Congress is looking to make a comeback in the MCDs after being out of power for ten years. The Aam Aadmi Party, which is making a debut in the MCD polls, is looking to put up a good show in these elections after a poor show in the assembly elections in Goa and Punjab. UNI AR SHK 1830
