Coronavirus claims 90 lives leaves 11,864 infected in Bihar

Patna, July 5 (UNI) With 404 new cases, the coronavirus infection tally increased to 11864 in Bihar where 90 people lost their lives due to the infection so far.
Health department sources said here today that of the new cases Begusarai reported with 52 followed by Muzaffarpur with 45, Patna 38, Vaishali 29, Bhagalpur and Nalanda 22 each, Nawada21, West Champaran 18, Jehanabad 16, Munger 12, Jamui and Siwan 10 each, Gaya and Saharsa 9 each, Buxar 8, Madhubani 7, Khagaria , Kishanganj and Lakhisarai 6 each, Araria, Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Samastipur and Saran 5 each, Aurangabad 4, Arwal, Banka, Bhojpur, East Chamoaran, Sheikhpura, Shivhar, Sitamarhi and Supaul 3 each, Katihar 2 and Madhepura and Rohtas 1 each.
Infection trail of these cases was being traced, informed the sources.
Meanwhile, Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh said that 277 people recovered during the past 24 hours and with this, a total number of 8,765 people infected with coronavirus have recovered so far in Bihar where the recovery rate is 73.90 per cent.
According to record, 2,57,896 samples have so far been examined in the state where 3,004 were active cases.
Meanwhile, a report from Bhagalpur informed that an 83-year-old person if Nawgachhiya died due to COVID 19 at Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College Hospital Bhagalpur during the day taking the death toll due to coronavirus infection to 90.
Of the 90 casualties, maximum deaths were reported from Patna where 12 people lost their lives due to this infection followed by Darbhanga, Rohtas, Nalanda and Saran with 5 each, Begusarai, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran, Bhagalpur and Samastipur 4 each, Bhojpur, Gaya, Jehanabad, Khagaria, Vaishali, Nawada, and Sitamarhi 3 each, Kishanganj, West Champaran, Madhubani and Siwan 2 each and Araria, Arwal, Aurangabad, Jamui, Kaimur, Katihar, Madhepura, Munger and Sheohar 1 each.
