Cop died in hit & run case: Accused to be charged with culpable homicide

Jammu, Dec 2 (UNI) The death of a police constable in reported hit and run case was turned out to be culpable homicide after the accused made a confession during eight days police remand, police here said on Thursday.
Police said that on November 24, ASI Inderjeet Singh, along with Constable Qayoom Ali and SPO Ashwani Kumar, was deployed at Manda for night duty and during the duty at midnight, one rashly driven car towards Jammu, lost its control and hit the check point, leaving the constable Qayoom Ali in a pool of blood, who later succumbed while being shifted to the hospital.
Police said that the driver, along with vehicle, fled away from the spot following which a case was registered and investigation started.

Dehradun, Apr 19 (UNI) Uttarakhand has witnessed an average voter turnout of 24.83 per cent for five Lok Sabha seats till 11am on Friday,
Excluding the Nainital constituency, voting percentages in the other four constituencies have surpassed those of the 2019 elections within the same timeframe, which recorded 23.59 per cent turnout by Friday midday.
